Mike Perlis is a media industry CEO with deep experience managing a wide range of content and multimedia brands. He joined Forbes Media in 2010 from SoftBank Capital, where he served as a General Partner for 10 years and continues to be Special Partner.
Before joining SoftBank, he served as President and CEO of Ziff-Davis Publishing, Publisher of GQ, President of Playboy Publishing, President of TVSM, Publisher of Runner’s World and Men’s Health, Chairman and CEO of IDG Peterborough and co-founder of New England Publications.
He served on the Board of Buzzfeed and was a Board member and Chairman of Associated Content. Previous board observer positions include GSI Commerce, The Huffington Post and KickApps. He is on the Board of Advisors of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and is a trustee of Outward Bound International.
Mike Federle is President and Chief Operating Officer of Forbes Media, where he oversees the company’s media business as well as its intersection with new businesses that Forbes launches.
Prior to joining Forbes Media in 2011, he was a co-founder, President and COO of Techonomy Media Inc, a multimedia company based in New York, in which Forbes acquired an equity interest in July, 2011.
He is a 25-year veteran of the media industry, where he has held top positions as Publisher of Fortune magazine, Group Publisher of the Time Inc. Business & Finance Network and Group Publisher of the Bonnier Mountain Group in Boulder, Colorado.
Lewis D’Vorkin is Forbes Media’s Chief Product Officer, responsible for the company’s digital and print platforms, including Forbes.com on desktop, mobile and tablets, FORBES Magazine and ForbesLife mobile apps and video. All editorial operations also report to Mr. D’Vorkin. A seasoned journalist and entrepreneur, Mr. D’Vorkin founded True/Slant, an original content digital news network, which Forbes Media invested in and acquired in 2010. He was also the Executive Editor of Forbes magazine from 1996 to 2000. Prior to his startup, he was Senior Vice President, Programming at AOL, where he oversaw the Welcome Screen, News, Sports, Network Programming and helped launch TMZ.com. Previously, Mr. D’Vorkin was Page One Editor of The Wall Street Journal, a Senior Editor at Newsweek and an editor at The New York Times.
Mark Howard is Chief Revenue Officer at Forbes Media. In this role, he is responsible for the U.S. and European digital and print sales organization, marketing and advertising solutions. Previously, he was SVP of Digital Advertising Strategy.
Mr. Howard also held the position of SVP and VP of Digital Advertising Sales for Forbes Media, overseeing the global sales team in its online sales efforts as well leading the Western Region team in its integrated sales efforts. He was also charged with developing the corporate digital sales strategy, which included new product development, the creation and development of audience segmentation programs and strategic planning.
Mr. Howard joined Forbes Media as a Regional Sales Manager in 2002. During his time at Forbes, he has also served as West Coast Digital Sales Director and Western Region Director of Integrated Sales.
Prior to joining Forbes Media, Mr. Howard held sales positions at Inc. and Fast Company magazines, as well as E-Trade Financial. He began his career as a media planner at Anderson & Lembke. He is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Marketing. He resides in New York City.
Terrence O’Connor is Executive Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer of Forbes Media.
Mr. O’Connor joined Forbes as General Counsel in 1990 and was promoted to Vice President-General Counsel in 1992 and then Senior Vice President- General Counsel in January 2003. He served on the board of Forbes Media from 2006 to September 2014 when the Company was sold to its current owners.
He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Seton Hall University in 1972. He received his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School in 1975.
He resides in Somerset County, New Jersey, with his wife, Lisa. They have four children (Kori, Callen, Samantha and Alexandra) and eight grandchildren.
Margy Loftus is Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Forbes Media, overseeing talent acquisition and retention, cultural programs, employee relations and health and welfare benefits.
She joined Forbes as Director, Human Resources in 1997 to create the department.
Ms. Loftus previously served as Associate Director, Human Resources at Condé Nast, where she oversaw business-side employee relations and recruitment for Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Glamour. During her tenure at Conde Nast, she also served as Creative Services Director at Self.
Mia Carbonell is Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Communications at Forbes Media. In her role, she is responsible for media relations (driving awareness for Forbes and its brand extensions, as well as elevating the profile of the company’s leadership), crisis management and internal communications. Under her leadership, Forbes has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Ad Age, Adweek, Digiday, CNBC and GMA among other outlets. The company has also received such awards as Ad Age’s “A” List, Adweek’s Hottest Business Magazine, a Webby and Digiday’s best native advertising.
Prior to joining Forbes in 2012, Ms. Carbonell held corporate communications positions at HSN, Inc., health and wellness publisher Rodale, Time Warner and Vivendi Universal. She began her career in media as a TV journalist for ABC Affiliate WPLG-10 in Miami and gained PR agency experience working at Hill and Knowlton.
She is a graduate of Georgetown University and Harvard Graduate School of Education. She resides in New York City.
MariaRosa Cartolano began her career as an associate at a small corporate law firm, after earning her B.A. from Fordham University and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. In 1986, she became Associate General Counsel at First Investors Corporation, and then joined Forbes Media in 1989 as Assistant General Counsel. She was appointed to the role of General Counsel in 2012. During her long tenure at Forbes, she has played an integral role in the evolution of Forbes from a modest family-owned business to the leading global media, branding and technology company it is today.
MariaRosa is married with three children and resides in Brooklyn, New York.
Michael York is Chief Financial Officer of Forbes Media. In this role, he is responsible for all finance, treasury, investor relations, risk management, tax, and audit operations at Forbes Media.
Mr. York is a 13 year veteran of Forbes Media, starting as a financial analyst in 2002 and most recently serving as the company's SVP of Finance. Prior to joining Forbes Media, Mr. York spent four years as an auditor with a public accounting firm in the greater Boston area.
Mr. York is a graduate of Nichols College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. He is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. York resides in Brooklyn with his wife and two daughters.
William Adamopoulos serves as CEO/Asia of Forbes Media and President and Publisher of Forbes Asia. He is responsible for Forbes Media business interests in Asia Pacific, including Forbes Asia, local partnerships Forbes China, Forbes India, Forbes Indonesia, Forbes Japan, Forbes Korea, Forbes Mongolia, Forbes Philippines, Forbes Thailand and Forbes Vietnam, Forbes.com and the annual Forbes Global CEO Conference. Prior to establishing an Asian headquarters for Forbes in 1999, Adamopoulos was the Publisher and Managing Director of The Asian Wall Street Journal, and the President of Dow Jones Publishing Company (Asia). A 1984 graduate of Harvard College where he studied economics, Adamopoulos is based in Singapore.
